Advanced cMUT research and 2D medical imaging probe development at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, including a 128×64-channel CMUT probe and the launch of SAIT's CMUT process line.
2016–2020
Research Professor, KAIST CISS Global Frontier Program (~460M KRW over 4 years) — fabricated the first pMUT semiconductor ultrasound chips with DGIST, characterized device performance in air and water, and developed proprietary multi-focus pMUT beamforming with no moving parts.
2019
Founded MUTi Inc. to commercialize semiconductor pMUT ultrasound technology.
2021–2024
Selected twice for Korean Government Strategic R&D Programs (~743M KRW combined) — moved production to SilTerra's 8-inch MEMS line, independently verified acoustic pressure with KRISS, and reached commercial-level manufacturing at 83%+ yield.
2025
Completed independent clinical validation — two P&K Skin Research Center studies, 390 data points, reproducible weekly improvement. Obtained FCC certification.
2026
Launched MUTi WAVE — established MUTi WAVE LLC (USA) and began an initial limited release via Shopify.
